Living With Scleroderma

Scleroderma is a range of disorders in which the skin and connective tissues tighten and harden. It is a long-term, progressive disease. This means it gradually gets worse. From her teenage when she started developing symptoms, self acceptance has been a journey for Farah Khaleck. She however overcame the challenge and currently produces inspirational content on her social-media. She is also pursuing a course in Journalism at a university in Kenya.

Farah Khaleck is a Kenyan youth from Nairobi. Like anyone else at her age bracket, she is full of dreams.

For the last 13 years, Farah has been living with Scleroderma. she was first diagnosed in a hospital in India at the age of 17

She started experiencing robust weight fluctuations after she completed her high school studies and slowly her body started stiffening

Upon diagnosis, she learnt that her condition has no known cure world over.

she felt devastated for a long time, especially when the prescribed steroids made the condition even worse

she cannot perform even simple tasks like stand on her own from a seat or even dress herself

All these basic tasks are performed by her closest friend - her mother. she is a woman with a golden heart

You will catch the duo having a chat and laughing together. they have over time turned dull days to jovial ones

Farah has not allowed her situation to dictate what the future holds for her and her family.

She aspires to become a journalist. She is currently in her first year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Journalism.

She is also determined to inspire youth through her YouTube channel and other social media platforms
